Quick Guide To View Integrated Pets
Overview
Once your shelter software is integrated with AME, pets from your system will automatically appear in the Pets tab for each connected store. This guide explains how to identify and manage integrated pets in the AME interface.
📍 Where to Find Integrated Pets
-
Navigate to the Pets tab in the bottom menu.
-
Select the Available tab to see all active animals ready (or nearly ready) for adoption.
-
You can use the search bar to filter by Pet ID or name.
How to Identify Integrated Pets
Each integrated pet listed in AME will display a badge next to their name that indicates how the animal was added:
-
🟩 Green badge – Integrated pet with all required data present and ready for adoption.
-
🟨 Yellow badge – Integrated pet with missing required fields (known as “violations”).
Hovering over a yellow badge will show which fields are missing and a link to edit the animal.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Can I filter the list to only see integrated animals?
Not yet. But integrated pets can be easily identified using the colored badge beside their names.
Q2: Why is an integrated pet not showing up in the list?
If you don’t see a pet that should be visible, check the following:
-
The pet’s location must be connected to a PetSmart store.
-
The integration must be authenticated and active.
-
The animal may already be in an adoption flow — in that case, it will appear under Adoptions > In Process or Complete.
-
Check the sync status in the Integration menu to confirm that the system is still actively syncing data. If there was an authentication failure or credentials were changed, the sync may have stopped.
Q3: What does it mean if the badge is yellow?
It means that required data (like Breed, Sex, or Adoption Fee) is missing. Until this is fixed, these animals are not adoptable.
Q4: How often are animals synced from the shelter software?
Pets are usually synced within 1 hour of changes or new entries in the source system.
Q5: Can I manually edit an integrated animal?
Yes. You can update the required fields directly in AME, but the animal will still be marked as integrated.
