There are cases where your integration credentials may need to be updated — for example, if your username, password, authentication key, or RSS feed URL has changed. This guide walks you through how to update those credentials to restore or maintain the integration between your shelter software and AME.
Update your authentication credentials if:
Your shelter login details were changed (username or password).
Your API key, Auth Key, or RSS feed was regenerated.
You see an error indicating that the integration has failed to sync.
If credentials are outdated or incorrect, the integration will stop working and animals will no longer sync to AME.
Navigate to Settings > Integration and select the integration you want to update.
Click on the Authentication tab to view your current credentials.
Update the required fields based on your shelter software:
ShelterBuddy: URL, username, password
PetPoint/ShelterLuv: Auth Key
Chameleon: RSS feed URL
After entering the updated credentials, click Authenticate & Save. AME will validate the new information.
✅ If successful: The integration will resume and the Connected status will be restored.
❌ If failed: An error message will be shown, and syncing will remain inactive.
After updating your credentials, it’s a good practice to verify all store connections.
Click on the Stats button next to each connected store to ensure syncing is active.
You might notice that animals are no longer syncing. In the Integration screen, the sync status will show as inactive or failed.
If the credentials are invalid, AME will display an error and will not save the changes. Syncing will remain paused until a valid authentication is provided.
No. Store connections will remain intact unless the integration is manually deleted. However, syncing will only resume after successful reauthentication.
No. You can simply use the Edit Credentials button and save your changes — no need to start over.
