Dangerous Animals

August 2024

There is a field on the Animal Details page that can indicate if an animal has been declared dangerous (either officially, or by your organisation).

Simply click the box to mark the animal as dangerous. This will cause a drop down box to appear where you can select a Dangerous Animal Category (additional options can be added via Administration > Edit Drop Down Lists).

Additionally, an optional section will appear where you can enter information such as when the dangerous animal order was issued and whom the issuing officer was. "OTR" means "Order to Restrain". It is also sometimes known as a "muzzle and control order".

Once the file is updated, a pop-up will appear every time this animal's file is opened or the page is refreshed:

If an animal that is part of a dispatch job is marked as dangerous, an icon will now appear as part of its animal listings:

This information can be tracked via Dangerous Animal Report (419)

Note: If an animal is flagged as "Dangerous", you won't be able to apply a regular license to it. The Licensing process filters available licenses using a Dangerous Animal marker set up in Admin > License Admin > License Fee Setup.

If this marker is set, the license will be available for animals that have been flagged as Dangerous on your site. Please be aware that such licenses will NOT show for animals that are not flagged as Dangerous.

NB: This feature will only show on the Person Details page if:

  1. The person is the current owner (via the ownership type from the Owner History pop-up/visible in the "List Animals Responsible For" link in the Person menu)

  2. The animal is not deceased

  3. The animal has the checkbox ticked that they are a dangerous animal
